With Easter Sunday right around the corner, you probably already have plans. For most of you, your Easter plans might be much different than your typical Sunday. Since it’s a holiday, you might have rearranged your day in order to spend it with your family. That’s nice, but why do it only on holidays?

We have a tendency to get caught up in the minutiae of our lives and become so focused on the small, inconsequential things, that we lose sight of the people and things that are truly important. Holidays like Easter, Christmas, and Thanksgiving are important, since they act as a touchstone, almost as a way to slow down and take a moment to appreciate what is really important.

As you are spending the day with friends and family tomorrow, ask yourself this question: Why can’t more days be like Easter, Christmas, or Thanksgiving? If you’re not spending as much time as you can with those you truly care about, make a commitment to have more family days like Easter each year. Unfortunately, our loved ones won’t be here forever.

I have to say that I’m ambivalent about global warming. Intuitively, it seems to make sense, but why the cliimategate cover-ups? Also, wasn’t the next ice age being heralded a few decaes ago? If those weren’t enough to make you question global warming, we have some people espousing ideas that are just insane.

Two of my favorites appeared this week. The first suggests moving to a global policy of allowing couples to have just one child. Sure, you may love your kids, but their birth is causing the Earth to warm. At some point, they will surely be the death of us! Now, there might be two feet of snow outside your house, but trust them: The little tikes are warming the planet.

My other favorite involves your diet. It seems that becoming a vegan will slow global warming. All that meat and dairy you’ve been eating has been contributing to a warmer planet, and this warming has contributed to lots of snow and cold temperatures lately. Wait, is that right? I’d better think it over while enjoying a milk shake.

The global warming cult really fans the flames of climate change doubts themselves. We can accept the rationale behind more efficient cars, but when you tell people they shouldn’t have two children and should avoid a burger at McDonald’s, you start to look like a fool.

WIth the holidays quickly approaching, it makes me wonder if there will be a push to convince people not to decorate for Christmas. After all, those strands of Christmas lights and illuminated Santas could be the death of us.

It will include a tour of the White House, a conversation with Barack and Michelle Obama, and an interview with the President. I’m sure the interview will be filled with hard-hitting questions.

The celebrity President will probably be right at home, since there will likely be several teleprompters around. At any rate, I wonder why the special is aring on ABC rather than Fox News? I think Glenn Beck would have done a great job hosting.
