Bill Maher doesn’t believe Barack Obama is a Christian
Comedian Bill Maher doesn’t believe Barack Obama is a Christian, and I must say, I agree.
Unlike many, I don’t believe he is a closet Muslim. Instead, I see him as someone who isn’t religious and clings to Christianity because it’s politically expedient. If I’m correct about this, the fact that he isn’t really a Christian doesn’t bother me. What would bother me is an exaggeration of his beliefs to gain election. » read more

The Ground Zero Mega Mosque
As you’ve probably heard, there are plans in the works to build a 15 story Muslim community center near Ground Zero. The location is about two blocks from the former site of the Twin Towers, and would include a mosque, classroom space, and other amenities for the community. Some have compared it to a Jewish community center or a YMCA, which sounds correct on a superficial level. Of course, there are differences.
Let me begin by stating that Muslims have every legal right to build a mosque at that location. As long as all local zoning laws are satisfied, there’s no reason why it shouldn’t be built. Yet, while this building would seem to serve a function similar to that of a Jewish community center or a YMCA, only a fool can’t see the difference. » read more

Barbie celebrates the burka

Mattel's newest Barbie dolls comes complete with a burka.
Barbie dolls have been around for 50 years. Over that time, there have been a lot of variations, but the strangest one is the Burka Barbie, which has the iconic doll wearing a traditional Islamic Burka.
I know some people will love this idea, but I find it strange. Aren’t many Islamic women forced to wear Burkas? Is it really appropriate for a symbol of oppression to be celebrated as just another cultural difference?

Sting: Barack Obama ‘sent from God’
In a recent interview, singer Sting says Barack Obama is “sent from God.” The strangest part is Sting’s lack of rationale for such a comment. Here’s his best shot: “I can’t think of any be (sic) better qualified because of his background, his education, particularly in regard to Islam.” Let’s take a closer look at this statement.
Barack Obama is definitely well-educated, having received a law degree from Harvard. Although, that doesn’t really set him apart from other Presidents. Bill Clinton also had a law degree and attended Oxford, while George W. Bush received an MBA from Harvard. Next, we have his background. I’m not sure what this is a reference to, so I’ll leave it alone. To be honest, I don’t think Sting knew what he was referring to. Finally, he mentions knowledge/background in regards to Islam. Since when is a background in Islam a qualifier to be President of the United States? » read more
