John McCain is right about wildfires
Recently, Arizona senator John McCain mentioned that illegal aliens who traveled over our porous border might have been responsible for recent wildfires out west. Once the liberal activists and apologists for the illegal aliens heard this, they were all over his remarks. Congressman Raul Grijava had this to say:
Late Monday, Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.) said that his state’s culture is “as toxic as I have ever seen it,” as “every misfortune is blamed on undocumented immigrants.” McCain’s comments, he said, continue to provoke an extreme anti-immigrant and anti-Latino atmosphere in Arizona. This level of intolerance has reached a new low.”
Of course, McCain’s critics seem to ignore one very important fact: He’s merely repeating what the Forest Service has said. Essentially, they have seen evidence that people crossing the border have started campfires that weren’t properly extinguished, leading to fires. That’s it. » read more

Bristol Palin’s book: Do publishers have standards any more?
I just found out that Bristol Palin, daughter of potential Presidential candidate Sarah Palin, wrote a book. I was a bit surprised, since there doesn’t seem to be much reason for someone like her to write one. She’s 20 years old, and she hasn’t done anything of note besides passing through Sarah Palin’s birth canal two decades ago. Despite this, at least one publisher thought people would care about what she had to say. So what does she have to say? Not much. » read more

Another example of Barack Obama’s poor judgement
Senators John McCain and John Kyl requested that 6,000 troops be sent to the Mexican border. In a move designed to show he did something while not doing much at all, Barack Obama approved just 1,200 soldiers be sent to the border. It’s pretty obvious Barack Obama doesn’t see border security as a problem.
I have a great idea. Next time the President is looking for a place to take the First Family on vacation, he should choose a place near the border. It’ll be great! The kid’s immersion among Spanish speaking residents will help the kids pick up the language, and the excitement can’t be beat. Besides aliens crossing the border, and many of them committing crimes, we have an ever expanding drug war straddling the U.S./Mexico border. It’s just like a midsummer Hollywood action film! Unfortunately, it’s not made up, and Americans are suffering. » read more

One more reason to support J.D. Hayworth over John McCain
Senator John McCain is facing a tough primary this year. Hopefully, he will lose to J.D. Hayworth, who is more concerned with doing the right thing, than trying to be everything to everyone. The latest example of McCain’s lack of political courage is his reluctance to take a stand on a bill in Arizona which would make it a crime for illegal aliens to be present in the state, and for people to transport or employ them. J.D. Hayworth has come out in favor of the bill.
John McCain loves to point out the time he spent fighting for the United States, along with his time as a P.O.W. That’s why I find it shocking that he would refuse comment on the bill and brush off questions about his opinion by saying it’s a “state issue.” He’s certainly correct, but as a long-time citizen of that state, he has every right to comment on it, and the voters have every right to know where he stands on the issue. Of course, I can probably guess where he stands.
We’re talking about a man who teamed up with the Bush administration on a bill that would have provided a path to citizenship granted amnesty to millions of people who ignored our laws and deserve to be categorized as criminals. John McCain deserves to lose in 2010, and I’m confident he will.
